See You Soon: Chris Martin's Best Solo Performance

A moment to remember.

SEE YOU SOON: CHRIS MARTIN'S BEST SOLO PERFORMANCE

Chris Martin is quite the figure: kind, charismatic, and creative. Over the years, he has perfected his singing and performance style, always connecting with the audience. One particular performance in Sydney, which was filmed and later released as the album Live 2003, stands out for its intimate and simplistic nature, while still being impressive. Alone with his guitar, bathed in poetic lighting, and with his precise voice, he delights the audience with something unique, especially given that the song isn’t one of their famous hits.

"See You Soon" was released on the EP The Blue Room in 1999, a year before Coldplay's debut album Parachutes. It later became a regular part of the setlist for the tour of their second album, A Rush of Blood to the Head (2002). This culminated in the memorable video performance in 2003; watch it:

Lyrics:

So you lost your trust,
And you never should have, you never should have,
But don't break your back,
If you ever see this,
Don't answer that.

In a bullet proof vest,
With the windows all closed,
I'll be doing my best,
I'll see you soon,
In a telescope lens,
And when all you want is friends,
I'll see you soon.

So they came for you,
They came snapping at your heels,
They come snapping at your heels,
But don't break your back,
If you ever hear this,
Don't answer that.

In a bullet proof vest,
With the windows all closed,
I'll be doing my best,
I'll see you soon,
In a telescope lens,
And when all you want is friends,
I'll see you soon,
I'll see you soon.

And oh you lost your trust,
And oh you lost your trust,
And oh don't lose your trust…
